Cooler Master eXtreme Power 550w PSU RP-550-PCAR 550W ATX 20+4-pin, 12v P4, 6-pin PCI-E, 6xMolex, 3xSATA, 2xFloppy
A power supply I haven't used for long (>3 months). 550w of power delivered by Cooler Master, a trustworthy pc component brand name. It's in good condition and I'm selling because I'm upgrading my computer. It ran a Core2Duo CPU, 3 HDDs, 1 ODD, 3 case fans and an ATI 4850 GPU comfortably.
It comes with 4x screws to install it, 1x power cable and I'm also including a SATA power splitter, turning 1x molex into 2x SATA power connectors.
I would prefer bank deposit over paypal, but if you feel safer using paypal then use that instead. Payment must be made within 7 days of winning the auction, unless you contact me and arrange something else. Pick-up is available (cash only) & Australia-wide postage (no international). Ask me for a postage estimate, the listing price is a rough guide. Feel free to ask me any questions.
So what are you waiting for, pick yourself up a bargain!

 - Technical Information:
An important tip from one of our users: don't just check total power
output, find out what you need in the way of current on each power
rail. If you need 20 A on your +12V rails and the supply only has 15A,
it doesn't matter how many watts the supply puts out: don't buy it.
Make certain that you have ENOUGH rails, too: sometimes, you need more
than just two +12V rails for your setup.
Replacing an existing power supply is easier: just get a
replacement that meets or exceeds the specifications of the old one.
(You can usually find those printed on the side of the supply.)
That said, here's a power supply that is compatible with most ATX
format motherboards, puts out 550 watts of power (see specifications
for exact distribution). Could this be your next power supply?

Great Product
- Pros: Properly installed, the fan is pointing down, NOT up.
HAS
a -5V pin which older motherboards need to ensure proper ACPI power
control (turns off when you hit the power button, so I’m told).
Beefy power, much more than needed in my setup, so it runs cool and therefore quietly due to its intelligent fan speed control.
Black is a nice contrast to my alluminum case, which I didn’t think I’d like. - Cons: No Active PFC (Power Factor Correction), uh, ya, but you’d pay a lot for it.
- Other Thoughts:
Hint: got this at a steal with Newegg’s great email special pricing
coupons, so be sure to subscribe to their exclusive email discount
offer (you wouldn’t believe it, WITH a Coolmax rebate too!).
- Pros: Lots of Airflow from the big 120mm fan. No problems with it.
- Cons: None, it works fine.
- Other Thoughts: Powers amd64 X2 4400+, geforce 8800 GTS 320mb, dvd burner, two harddrives, and a couple case fans no problem.

Decent Power Supply
- Pros: Works, powers my system just fine
- Cons:
Just RMA'd my second one, the fan dies, power supply overheats and
pops, first lasted about 10 months 2nd one lasted about 7 months, this
pc doesnt stay on 24/7 runs during the day and is off over night. Its
only an AMD 2600 system with 2 hard drives and 2 cdrom drives, and an
ATI 9600 pro, shouldnt be overloaded. I think its just bad fans I
guess, who knows
- Other Thoughts: Luckily
the first was covered under New Egg RMA, second was covered under
Coolermaster 2yr warranty, so as long as it pops under warranty its
just a minor irritation. I have used probably close to 60 or 70
coolermaster power supplies in builds over the past few years, rarely
have a problem, this particular one just doesnt seem to hold up for
some reason
Great price with rebate, had to RMA mine
- Pros: 550 watts and a single PCI-Express video card connector and almost all the sata power connectors you will need.
mine came with a three year warranty - Cons:
mine happened to be from the "first batch" that had a "fan bearing"
issue. causing the fan to eventually strike the grill repetedly and
then quit working.
just search the coolermaster forum and you will find that they recommend a RMA. problem is they do not offer a "advanced RMA" so you need to find a replacement power supply till you get yours back. - Other Thoughts: maybe thats why there was a rebate.
roughly ten days from start to finish on my RMA.
OK PSU
- Pros: Does what it needs to do.
- Cons:
First one was DOA, had to send it back to Newegg. It only has a 4-pin
12V CPU connector, so you'll need an 8-pin adapter if your motherboard
needs an 8-pin 12V.
