Ferocactus latispinus, known as the Crow's Claw Cactus or the Devil's Tongue Barrel, is a globular cactus, 25 to 40 cm in diameter. It is native to Mexico.

It has 14 to 23 ribs, large areoles, grey to blackish, with 4 large central spines, the lowest central is wider.

This cactus has pinkish purple or yellow flowers, 2.5 to 3.5cm in diameter. They come in late autumn to early winter, and need a fair amount of bright sunlight to form.

Ferocactus latispinus is fairly popular in cultivation because it blooms very early, many young plants will bloom when they reach 10cm in diameter.

Frost hardy to -4°C.

For sale is a packet of 10 fresh seeds.
