Birth Doula Support
Postnatal Doula Support

As your Birth Doula, I offer...

any amount of prenatal visits you desire to support you in:
 - seeking information, including unlimited access to my resources library of books and DVDs
        - discussing your expectations of pregnancy, birth and new parenthood       
- discussing your birth options and completing your birth plan

support during labour and birth, from whenever you feel you need me, which includes:
- emotional support, encouragement and reassurance
- information about what is happening during the course of labour
        - physical comfort measures including massage, heat packs and assistance in movement
        - suggesting to you ways in which you can enhance your body's efforts to birth your baby
        - offering reassurance, suggestions and support to your partner as they support you
        - assistance in maintaining your environment according to your desires, including music, aromatherapy and lighting
- making sure you have plenty of food and drink
        - facilitation of communication between you, your partner and your birth team
- advocacy in making sure you are heard

up to 2 postnatal visits to support you in:
- breastfeeding
        - care of your newborn
        - debriefing your birth experience

as part of my birth doula services, I also offer:
- informal childbirth education sessions through which you can gain a better understanding of what to expect during labour and birth
- photography of your pregnancy, labour and birth experience (on CD) for you to keep (all photos you see in this listing have been taken by me and are an exaple of how I can capture this special time for you)
- a written birth story, a copy of which is viewable on my website along with photos of your new little bundle, for family and friends to visit, view and even print out to keep
- a special framed gift of your baby's first moments

As your Postnatal Doula I offer...

practical information and support to help you with:
- breastfeeding
- settling techniques
- care of your newborn

assistance with day-to-day activities, such as:
- preparation of meals
- gentle housework
- shopping and errands
- care of siblings

As someone who is passionate about positive pregnancy, empowering birth experiences and conscious parenting, I would like all new parents to be able to experience the benefits of having a doula support them. I am offering my birth doula service at just $500 and my postnatal doula services at $25/hour (if you hire me as your birth doula, you are eligible to receive a discount on postnatal doula services).
I do encourage a negotiated payment plan.
