The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.6-5.6 IS is a general-purpose standard zoom
lens for photographers who prefer to travel light. With a focal length
equivalent of 29-88mm in 35mm format and a minimum focusing distance of
25cm, the lens is suitable for most general photography. The aperture’s
circular design is also ideal for isolating subjects at large aperture by
delivering smooth and even-looking background blur.
In terms of image quality, the lens incorporates a 4-stop compensation Image
Stabiliser technology that allows shooting at shutter speed of down to 4
times slower without image blur. It also has a Super Spectra Coating for
accurate colour balance and high contrast and it suppresses ghosting and
flare by absorbing unwanted reflections in the lens.
This lens is also exceptionally light, weighing in at a mere 200g and it is
environmental-friendly with lead-free glass being used.
