You are purchasing a tank pad and petrol cap protector in carbon weave for a Honda CBR VFR RVF VTR CB.

These pads have been made to compete with the overseas versions and are made with cheaper high quality materials.

We have very high quality 3M foam adhesive lasercut tank pads and petrol caps with chrome and bolt versions coming out in the next few weeks.

Comparison against Hong Kong tank pad versions :

We actually purchased a number of tank pads from Hong Kong to assess there quality in comparison to ours and found the following three interesting points we would like you to consider before making any tank pad purchase:

• The carbon fibre pattern in the overseas pads mis-matched in carbon colour.  The texture was the same but there was a major colour difference between the petrol cap stick on and the main tank protector in the set we bought!  Dash Design pads are completely perfect in carbon texture and colour.
• The adhesive on the overseas pads is a signwriting vinyl adhesive only!  Its good for metal, but our experience in the industry shows us that this adhesive will not hold well in hot Australian heat conditions and we have seen overseas pads move or slide sideways on motorcycle tanks in the past.   Dash Design pads are lasercut with a foam adhesive for vibration resistance and better long term grip.
• The clear domed coating on the top of the overseas pads is very thin, flimsy and most of the pads had streaking and marks in the dome - such to a point that we deemed the pads unsaleable!  We believe they may have been hardened with a UV light source instead of the proper chemically cured way to process dome urethane coatings. The UV process way means the pads will craze or turn yellow after 6 - 12 months in sunlight.  Dash Design uses chemically cured urethane much harder than the overseas versions and will not craze or yellow for the life of the pad! Our result gives a thickness in the dome the is about twice thicker then the overseas versions.

This Australian made quality tank pad protector set is brand new manufactured only a few weeks ago.  We have 10 years experience manufacturing dashboard trims and will only use the best quality material components to produce our tank pads.  The foam adhesive is a high quality automotive brand that is vibration resistant and does not lift or peel from any smooth plastic, metal surfaces.  The carbon images are in house printed and cut using precision cnc laser equipment to give your tank pads set millimetre perfect fit.  The doming compound is made to our specifications by chemists at a specific hardness to handle the required curves on your vehicle.
