Carlton Ware Rouge Royale Lustre Dish

 

ITEM:  Small trinket dish by Carlton Ware Rouge Royale.

DESCRIPTION:  Small hand painted Rouge Royale dish. Inside the dish has a lustre finish, soft colours of pale green, mauve, pink and yellow. Gilt trim around top and base. Quite a heavy border on both top and base. The dish has a scalloped shape. A very pretty little item, not sure what this would have been used for, or if it should have lid.

SIZE : APPROX 9.5cm (3  3/4 inches)  in length. Width 7 cm (2 3/4 inches) Height 4cm (1 1/2 inches). 

CONDITION:  No chips or cracks. There is clean glaze crazing to the base, which does not detract from presentation in my opinion. Gilt trim is in very good condition with a very small amount of wear.

AGE:  Unknown

MARKINGS: The underside has Carlton Ware Handpainted made in England "Rouge Royale"  in black. Impressed shape code 2139 and a gold stroke. Please refer to photos as this forms part of the description. Rubber stoppers on underside of dish (shown in photo 2).

GENERAL: A lovely little pin dish in very good condition. 

POSTAGE & HANDLING: Within Australia, regular post is $8.50.  Item will be securely wrapped in bubblewrap,styrofoam chips and/or shredded paper and sturdy cardboard box.
