This is a hand carved hair pin from Tampaksiring.
Beautifully made, this decorative hair stick looks striking with its beautiful fern design carving. They give a classical elegance to your long hair when it is pinned up (see my Guides for some bun ideas), and also make a wonderful gift for others.
This single pronged hair pin measures approx 2 cm in width at the end and 15 cm in length (functional length 10 cm), weighing approx 8.5 gms. and has a natural curve, which doesn't affect wear. It is made from cow bone, but the cows are not killed for this, they are a common domestic animal and live a long life, and nothing is wasted at the end of it! These are listed as multiple items, so they may differ slightly, being hand carved from a natural material.
This product is made in Tampaksiring, a little mountain town in the heart of Bali, well known for its bone carving prowess. We buy direct from the makers whom we met while passing through Bali to go to Java – resulting in fantastic prices for you!
