This is a Carver Magnetic Field Power Amplifier Model TFM42.
It is a highly specified Power Amp capable of delivering 375 watts RMS into 8
ohms, both channels driven, 20-20kHz with no more than 0.5% THD. It will
deliver 500 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, both channels driven, 20-20kHz
with no more than 0.5% THD. It will also operate in 'bridged' mode delivering
1000 watts RMS mono into an 8 ohm load. Sensitivity is 1.5V RMS for rated 8 ohm
power, and yes, it will go very LOUD! Also note that the Power Level indicator
(Picture 4) does not function correctly - only the lower light illuminates on
each channel regardless of volume. This has never bothered me and does not seem
to affect the output.
The unit comes complete with a reprint of the Owner's
Manual and also a reprint of the Manufacturer's Service Manual. I do not have
the original carton, but it will be well packed for its journey. The packed
carton weighs 16Kg, so I would suggest collection or courier. However, I will
ship anywhere (domestic or international) at cost, at purchaser's expense.
