Chaparral Yucca
Yucca whipplei
This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.
 
A native of California and Mexico where it most commonly grows on dry, stony slopes in foothills, coastal plains, mountains and desert fringes. It is adaptable to soils but prefers very porous, shallow soils and rocky outcrops.
 
A highly variable, rosette-forming, perennial shrub, its flexible leaves grow 30 - 80cm (1 to 3ft) in length to form a dense basal rosette. The stem of which does not produce offsets.
 
A single, simple flower stalk grows 2 to 2.5 metres (7 or 8ft) in height. The flowers are white or purple tinged and the lower flowers have set fruit while the upper flowers are still to open.
 
Offered is a packet of  20 seeds complete with Grownotes to assist you in their propagation.
 
All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
