Description: This is a beautiful set of solid mahogany mid to late 19th Century Victorian pierced ribbon ladder back "Chippendale" inspired dining chairs, of very good quality, a classic American set with one carver armchair and five side chairs. The chairs stand on moulded square legs united by a double "H" stretcher with moulded rails over with drop-in green/gold draylon seats. Rising over this are the classic pierced ribbon scrolled ladder backs with decorative crest rails. The carver armchair has shaped arms and elbow rests. The chairs are of very nice quality and very attractive. Date: The chairs date circa 1850 - 1900.
Condition: The chairs are in very nice condition, with only minor wear, all firm of joint, retaining their original finish with some minor distressing and antique patination.
