Dingo Dreaming by Mick Namarari Tjapaltjarri, painted in Alice Springs in 1992. Commissioned and collected by Peter Los. Measures 121 X 90, acrylic on Belgian linen. Comes with two photographs of Old Mick presenting the painting. One of the photos has his son Georgie in the frame, if any of you know him, he is a big man now and drives a Toyota. The iconography represents the mother dingo's scratch marks in the sand. She has had to bury her pups in the sand to keep them from following her and scaring off the game that she is hunting to feed her hungry children. The painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Western Desert Aboriginal Art Pty Ltd. I consider this to be an important, collectable piece. |
