It is always difficult to decide to let one of these types of frames go, but with several bikes eventually one had to go. Originally I had planned to build this bike up using vintage components but this is one project that is just not going to happen any time soon. I have therefore decided someone else should get the benefit of this great frame.

The frame itself is painted in the colours of the Belgian flag and has the marks and scrapes one would expect in a 20+ year old frame. I do not believe the frame has been repainted given the condition of the chrome around the lugs and lack of spray marks one sees on cheap repainted frames - so I would say it is as it was originally painted.  I had the bike sent out from Europe. On the rear of the frame is a sticker Van Damme Sport Dendermonde which I guess relates to Dendermonde in Belgium.

The frame has chromed lugs on the headset, chrome along the chainside stay, in the rear dropouts and along the fork itself. I have estimated the age of the frame based upon the move Colnago made shortly after 1987 to the straight fork. You will note the rear brake cable runs through the top frame and has at the moment a piece of cable outer running through. There are no dents in the frame and the Colnago forktips and dropouts are only lightly used. The rear drop-out adjusters work as new.

There are no major scrapes, dents, dings as you can see in the photos and no bends in either the frame or the forks - all straight.

Currently there is a shimano bottom bracket installed and I believe the bottom bracket has Italian threading (it is Colnago after all) and the front fork is mounted using a shimano 600 headset. Both of these are in good order and would support a ready frame build. alternately you could go and find a nice C-record set to re-build as I intended to.
