The TVS III comes in an elegant design with a brand Carl Zeiss T Vario-Sonnar 30-60 mm Zoom Power Lens. The extremely sharp Carl Zeiss T zoom lens on the TVS III provides outstanding performance and excellent reproduction of contrast and color. The Power Zoom allows the photographer to quickly go from wide angle to telephoto and back again with just the touch of a button. A Zoom Flash is incorporated in the TVS III, allowing the flash to zoom in or out with the lens, providing perfect exposures for all of your photographs. The camera includes a host of sophisticated features, including a built in Date Back. This feature dates your photographs, allowing you to keep track of not just those special occasions, but your everyday photographs as well. The Contax TVS III has a variety of Custom Functions designed to make the camera easier to use. By combining the available six Custom Functions as desired, the user can create a customized version of the TVS III that fits his or her own style. The Contax TVS III is both smaller and lighter than its predecessors in the TVS series, making it even easier to carry about, yet losing none of the qualities that allow its performance to approach that of professional SLR cameras. The camera contains a truly sophisticated, multi-point, passive auto focus system. This system provides extremely accurate focusing performance over a distance range of 0.5 m to infinity. This multi-auto focus system uses five points for improved focusing accuracy. The user can also switch to spot auto-focus for hard-to-focus situations. This capability is consistent with Kyocera's emphasis on making the Contax TVS III a camera suitable for creating photos that are works of art. Flash control is easy and completely flexible allowing the user to select from Automatic Flash, Fill Flash, No Flash or Night Portrait mode. Additionally, a red-eye reduction system is included. Other standard features include automatic film handling such as loading, advance and rewind and film ISO's are set automatically with DX coded film.
