A large underglaze black-printed meat platter by Copeland & Garrett showing the scene 'Driving a Bear out of Sugar Canes' from the Indian Sporting series. It measures 42 x 33cms and is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. It has a unusual sepia-coloured wash which appears unevenly applied - the pictures below are reasonably accurate with respect to colour. An unusual piece in a very hard to find pattern.

Bears the printed and impressed Copeland & Garrett Late Spode wreath mark, and the printed pattern name to reverse.
