This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.

A native of Mexico where it is adaptable and grows on most soils but preference is for sandy, well-drained soils.

Growing to a height on 1m (3ft) with attractive, feathery, rich green foliage that is a little coarser than other Cosmos. The flowers are held above the foliage as solitary, bowl-shaped, bright yellow blooms that are 5-7.5cm (2-3in) in diameter. Hugely butterfly attracting, the blooms will continue all summer long and the plants will begin to fade about mid autumn.

A self seeding desert plant, Yellow Cosmos will survive harsh, droughty conditions and still complete its life cycle. The plants will be stunted and the flowers small but you will still get a colourful show.

Offered is a packet of 40 seeds with Grownotes to assist you to add this delightful little plant to your spring garden.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
