This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.

A native of south western West Australia and a close relative of the Kangaroo Paw, this plant prefers light soils with excellent drainage in an open, sunny position. It is very drought hardy but may abort flowers in these conditions and it will tolerate a few points of frost. 

This plant is known to grow in all but humid, tropical climates. If soils are unsuitable, it makes an excellent pot plant using a cactus mix.

A perennial herb consisting of strap-like, finely striate, stiff leaves with hairy margins, 20 cm long arising from an underground rhizome. The bright, yellow flowers usually occur in clusters on  stalks which emerge from the base of the leaves. The flowers do not rise above the leaves and are held low on the plant. Flowering occurs in winter through to summer.

While not absolutely necessary, smoke treatment greatly improves the germination rate of this seed. Smoke treatment (which is available in my store) is the simple process of sprinkling treated vermiculite over the sown seeds.
