Up for your consideration is this "Cybis/Cordey Dresser Set - Perfume & Vase". This is a gorgeous vintage dresser set. The perfume bottle is approx. 9" tall. The bottom has swirl designs. There are gold highlights and sprigs of gold leaves on the front and back. Near the bottom at one of the swirls there is a dainty yellow rose with a pink center and green leaves. Near the top there is a leaf laying in one of the swirls. The stopper has a larger rose that is yellow with a pink center. There are four leaves curled down over the stopper. This is hallmarked on the bottom 13. The vase has a unique design at the base with lace cut outs. This has gold highlights. The opening at the top is approx. 6" long and has gold edging. There are two pale pink roses nestled on the side of the vase. The leaves lay curled down from the roses. One rose is smaller than the other. This is approx. 6 1/4" tall and 4 3/4" long at the base. This is hallmarked on the bottom 7008 212. I would consider both pieces to be in very good condition. I can see no chips, cracks or breaks. This would be a beautiful addition to your dresser or vanity. Insurance is required.
Here's a little history about the name Cordey by Cybis. The Cordey China company was founded in 1942 in Trenton, New Jersey, by Boleslaw Cybis. The operation was small with less than a dozen workers. They produced figurine, vases, lamps, and similar items, much of which was marketed through gift shops both nationwide and abroad. Though the earlier wares were made of plaster Cybis developed his own formula for porcelain compositions which he called "Papka". Cordey figurines and busts were characterized by old-world cham, Rocco scrolls, and delicate floral appliques, ruffles and real lace which was dipped in liquified clay to add dimension to the work.
Although on rare occasions some items were not numbered or signed, the basic figure was cast with numbers and the Cordey signature. The numbering system began with 200 and in years progressed into the 8000's. As best can be established Cordey continued production until sometime in the mid 1950's. Boleslaw Cybis died in 1957.
