THE STORY OF THE LIBERATION of Europe

The invasion of Normandy was not one single battle. Some troops coming ashore met little or no opposition. Others, on different beaches or engaged in special operations, encountered determined resistance which put the whole of the D-Day landings in jeopardy.

D-Day: Heroes focuses on the fiercest fighting on D-Day, with the pick of combat footage from archives around the world, film of the battlefields today and vivid, chilling first hand accounts from Normandy veterans.
