How annoying! 

Purchased in January 2009, I dropped the camera with the lens open. It continued to take photos, but once i turned the camera off, I have not been able to use it again.  The camera powers on, but the lens won't come out.  And, of course it's not covered under warranty. 

Maybe you know how to fix it. 

Maybe you know someone who can fix it.
