This Program makes a Great Christmas-Gift! Unique, moderately priced and, above all, useful. No more boring books, daggy clothes or unwanted cosmetics! The gift of knowledge is the ultimate gift from one person to another!

DIY TUBE GUITAR AMP: Build Your Own Great Sounding Boutique Tube Guitar Amplifier

3 DVD set (approx. 3.5 HOURS!), a video do-it-yourself workshop, produced and recorded in Australia in 2007, by ValveMark founders. In English, color, PAL or NTSC, region-free.

Learn how to make your own guitar valve (tube) amplifier, save thousands of dollars in the process and get the sound as good as or better than Marshall, Peavey, Fender,  ..., not to mention the lesser brands! ValveMark, a valve amp maker based in Perth, Australia, used to make boutique tube amplifiers from 1996 to 2003, now we focus on educational products for audiophiles and guitar DIY enthusiasts.

Tube rectification, solid state rectification, fixed bias, cathode bias, class A, class AB, single-ended, push-pull, all options are covered and discussed, and heaps of other important issues. A ripper of a program! Unique! Of course, all circuits are proven and tested (our own designs), parts lists, wiring diagrams and full color photos of important details are included in the accompanying manual!

All previous buyers were very happy with the Program, just check my feedback! We have sold our DVDs in Australia, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Russia, Lithuania, Croatia, Serbia, USA, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Germany, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Portugal, Chech Republic, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Philippines, Hong Kong, Greece, Poland, Japan, South Africa, Belgium, Turkey, South Korea, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Chile, Netherlands, Malaysia, Singapore and many other countries!

Please browse through our ebay store for more DIY products, DVD programs, collections of tube circuits and transformer winding diagrams. This is the only place in the World where you can find these unique DIY vacuum tube resources!

DVDs are REGION-FREE, not locked into any country region, so you don't need a multi-region DVD player.

COMES WITH A FULL-COLOR REFERENCE MANUAL - this unique program comes with an accompanying full color A4 sized manual, a great reference book with schematics, close-up shots of important details and photos of the flip-charts used in the program. That way you don’t have to skip back and forth and press pause all the time on your DVD player!

SHOWS YOU IN A SIMPLE WAY HOW TO GO FROM SCHEMATICS TO A FINSHED AMP - Once you have decided on the design approach and have a circuit diagram in your hands, the real work starts. How to convert a bunch of interconnected symbols into a wiring diagram ad then into a reality? How to position the components? How to connect them? Is there an order of assembly that should be followed? There are many important issues that have to be considered! Them, what checks should be done and how? There are 'Cold checks" that are done first, and then the "Hot checks" are carried out.

Construct your own point-to-point wired amplifier!  Even if you don't intend to make your own tube amp, this program will be still be of interest, at least you will understand how valve (tube) amps work, how they are constructed and what issues affect the sound, the looks and the price. You will be a much more knowledgeable person and an informed buyer.

COVERS FOUR GREAT PROJECTS - We give you not one but FOUR different projects. Projects #1 and #2 are pure tube amps, projects #3 and #4 are tube output stages only while keeping the solid state preamps intact - we show you how to interface an SS preamp that you may want to keep (due to its desirable features, especially on modelling amps) with a new tube output stage that you can build yourself.

Project #1: "Baby Boy", 15 Watts, Class A, single-ended amp that can use various power tubes without any modifications, simply plug them in for different power and sound: 6L6, 5881, 6550, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88 Features: Normal/Boost mode ((Triode/Pentode switchable output stage), Hi-Lo guitar inputs, Bass-Mid-Treble tone control stack, NFB ON/OFF (Negative Feedback On/Off switch), External speaker connection. The premp tube can also be changed, you can try 12AT7 for a cleaner tone, 12AY7 and, of course, 12AX7 for more gain. You will have heaps of fun trying out all the possible combinations of power and input tubes.

Project #2: "Big Boy",  60Watts push-pull  channel-switching amp. This spunk can also use various power tubes without any modifications: 6L6, 5881, 6550, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88. 45 Watts with a pair of 6L6 and 60 watts with a pair of EL34.
Features: Normal/Boost mode ((Triode/Pentode switchable output stage), Clean and Dirty (Overdrive) channel, independent Gain and Volume controls for each channel, Bass-Mid-Treble tone control stack, series effects loop, presence control, external speaker connection

Project #3: similar to Project #1, but we retained the solid state preamp and build a tube power stage at the output. We used Peavey Rage 158 combo as a "host". Again, 15 Watts, Class A, single-ended amp that can use various power tubes such as 6L6, 5881, 6550, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88

Project #4: similar to Project #2,  60 Watts push-pull amp. We used a solid state combo amp as a host, kept the input circuits and built a tube power stage to get the tubey sound. This beast can use various power tubes such as 6L6, 5881, 6550, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88. Features: Normal/Boost mode ((Triode/Pentode switchable output stage), Clean and Dirty channel, independent Gain and Volume controls for each channel, Bass-Mid-Treble tone control stack, series effects loop, presence control, external speaker connection

LEARN THE SECRETS FROM THE PROS! To our knowledge no other designer has produced and filmed a video course on how to design and construct a valve (tube) guitar amplifier! This knowledge is a closely-guarded secret that commercial tube amp companies will not reveal, understandably, since they make their living of such information. Now you will learn the secrets of the pros!

IF A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS, THIS VIDEO IS WORTH A MILLION! The information revealed in this video program is not available in a visual format - finally you can see how it's done and hear the commentary while each operation is being performed, step-by-step. Reading about something is one thing, and seeing an expert do it in front of you (and explain how and why) is something completely different! NOW YOU CAN FIND OUT and SEE with your very eyes ...EXACTLY HOW IT'S DONE ... SO YOU CAN APPLY THIS KNOW-HOW IN YOUR OWN AMPLIFIER PROJECT ...AND ACHIEVE THE SAME or EVEN BETTER RESULTS! The key to your own success in building a valve (tube) amplifier is to discover exactly how other successful designers and builders do it. Because when you know exactly what has been proven to work in the real world then you can be assured of your own success!

GREAT VALUE-FOR-MONEY, HARD-TO-FIND INFORMATION! How much is this fascinating collection of practical and hard-to-find information really worth? Well, considering the amount of time, money and effort that went into the acquisition of all that knowledge and the production of this program, it could easily sell for thousands of dollars. You're getting thousands of dollars worth of practical and proven design and construction details all at your disposal.

FAQs

Q: Do you specify where to buy tubes and other parts? A: No. Just search for what you need (for example a 12AX7 tube ...) and you'll find dozens of reputable retail suppliers. Google and ebay are two obvious starting points ...

Q: Do I need expensive tools? A: Absolutely NOT! You will see what is required: a soldering iron, a few screwdrivers, and a few small tools - cutters and long-nose pliers. If you want to do metal work, you will also need a few metalworking tools.

Q: Do I need to buy expensive  measuring equipment? A: Absolutely NOT! A good multimeter is a must, but they are getting cheaper by the day. If you really want to be serious buy a single channel or dual channel CRO (oscilloscope), priced new from $299 new and a function generator (new from around $149), but it is not a must. Second hand equipment is also available on ebay. You can also rent them or borrow from friends or work. The best testing instrument is a guitar and your ears!

BID WITH CONFIDENCE - YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR AIM. In an unlikely case of any problems with DVDs, faulty disc(s) will be promptly replaced and airmailed to you at my expense. I wish you every success with your DIY project and your quest for good sound!

A few people bought this product and/or one or more of our other DVD programs, so they can start an amp repair or an amplifier building business. In that case the expense could be tax-deductible - check with your accountant. We are happy to issue you a tax invoice upon request so you have a required record for your tax return.
