This classic book illustrates 67 beautiful embroidery patterns from the former Czechoslovakia on 20 full-page color plates. It also includes directions for working the patterns, and 12 pages of free-style patterns to copy and trace onto cloth.

The Slavic peoples have always employed brilliant colors in all kinds of dress trimmings and interior decorations of the dwellings, and the collection of patterns in this book represents some of their most classic embroidery works.

The Czechoslovakian embroidery patterns may be grouped into two different categories: one comprising those done with counted stitches, the other those worked along a traced pattern.
