Genuine Australian pressing - brand new and unplayed (sealed) A Felice Brother Goes His Own Way... Debut album from stunning new group led by Simone Felice, who recently departed the Felice Brothers after originally forming them earlier in the decade. A couple of years older than his brothers, Simone was always the leader of the band, although his brother Ian wrote and sung more of the songs. An acclaimed poet and author, Simone was the more experienced artist of the brothers and the most charismatic performer, and his contributions to the band's output - wonderful songs like 'The Radio Song' and 'Don't Wake The Scarecrow' - were the sweetest and most poignant. Simone continues with that style of song on the Duke & The King's debut album, which is already being hailed as a classic overseas. Less overtly rootsy than the Felice Brothers, The Duke & The King's music is beautiful and big hearted, and should have broad and huge appeal. Comparisons have been made with late-period Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash, early James Taylor and the like. Whilst it certainly should appeal to fans of the likes of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Iron & Wine, there is no reason why it couldn't also have a much broader appeal. 1. If You Ever Get Famous |
