DYBBØL DENMARK EMIL RUGE PORTRAIT MARKED EXL. COND.







Superb silhouette portrait of a woman made by the famous Danish potter, Emil Ruge (1892-1977). It was made at Dybbøl which was one of the better Danish potteries. The piece is dated in pencil "13-10-51". Beautifully executed and glazed in a gun metal black. She's 15cm/6" tall. Impressed marks on the back.  Excellent condition. One minor nick to the bottom back edge which doesn't show and a couple of extremely small surface marks on the glaze.
