 Remember the excellent SS1300 reel?  Still said to be the best light spinning reel ever made!

Well this is the reel that Daiwa thought to replace it with.

This reel holds about the same line capacity as the SS1300, has the oversize drag of the SS1300 but has also got Dyna Balance, ball bearing line roller (Twistbuster), a metal rotor, instant anti reverse and a spare metal spool. Perhaps best of all is that the reel is "Made in Japan" - unlike many other reels today. This is a very smooth reel.

The gear ratio is 4.8 to 1.

The line capacity is 135 yds of 6 lb line (mono). It is spooled with 6 lb Tortue line.

Line lay is by worm gear for longer casts.

Weighs just 9.7 ounces.

Comes with box, papers and spare spool.

I have several SS reels and this feels much better than they do. A delight to use.

Note: There is some wear to the gold finish on the bottom of the body (visible in the second picture). Otherwise the reel is in excellent condition.

This reel was purchased from the USA and cost $149.95 (USD) plus postage. This is a quality reel.
