Art Deco Danish silver plate shell pattern cream ladle

 

This lovely piece is in good condition.

The ladle has a prettily shaped bowl which is cut and scalloped. It has a single side pouring lip and was designed to be used for serving cream. The handle has a shell pattern to the finial which is called 'Musling'.

The piece is marked to the back with the Danish twin tower mark for silver-plate used from around 1890 to 1928. It is also marked ABSA for the maker Absalon Silver.

The ladle has fine scratches and tiny nicks from use. There is no silver plate loss.

The ladle is 140mm long.

 

 

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
