| Art Deco Danish solid silver sewing scissors Aug Petersen c1930 |
This pretty pair is in good condition.
The handles to the scissors are marked 830S and have a maker's mark of AUG.P. The pair are Danish and the maker is Aug Petersen who worked as a silversmith in Copenhagen from 1928 until 1938.
The cutting blades are silver plated and sharp. The handles have obviously been loose at some stage and someone has wrapped cotton around the join to make it firm and so the handle is not seated flush. This particular handle is now firm; however the other handle has a small amount of rotational movement.
The silver is bright and shiny and there are no holes or dents.
The scissors are 100mm long.
For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
Please note this item is original and not a copy or modern day reproduction.
