Deco solid silver powder compact Hugo Grün 1930 Denmark

This lovely piece is in very good condition.

The powder compact is decorated in a classic Art Deco style with parallel ribbed lines and a stepped catch. The front is clearly hallmarked for Denmark with the solid silver three tower assay mark with a year of 1930. The maker's mark is that for Hugo Grün and the final mark is the Assay Master's mark for Jens Sigsgaard. Please see below to confirm.

Danish Assay marks

The piece has been gently cleaned with silver foam but there is still tarnish remaining in the low spots. There are no dents, splits or holes to the piece. There are many fine scratches and scuff marks from use. Ther is one larger scuff mark to the back.  The hinge is firm and works well. The piece closes with an audible snap. The mirror inside is hazy and there is one spot to the silvered under surface that can be seen. The reflection is such that it looks like looking at a picture taken using a fuzzy lens of a camera. The powder tray still retains its original gauze and powder remnants.

The powder compact is 68mm x 68mm x 7mm tall. The piece weighs 78gms which I realise includes the mirror.

For North American users a handy guide is 25mm or 2.5cm is a little less than 1 inch, so 100mm or 10cm is just less than 4 inches.
