Title: "Dragon Slayer "
Printed on high quality 240gm 100% cotton, acid-free, archival, fine art paper. A3 size (approx 12 x 16.5 inch). ARTIST'S STATEMENT The heroic dragon slayer triumphantly rises up on the back of his noble horse. His face covered by a mask of previous victories. The evil dragon enemy is but a elusive menace in the background of the image. The intricate woven tapestry border reminiscent of banners and tapestries of ancient times that inspire the myths and magic’s surrounding dragons and heroes. This image is a light hearted fantasy image loosely inspired by role playing fantasy, which is created digitally. It portrays rich textures and colour in a dramatic hero verses evil story depiction. The real symbolic depth of slaying the Dragon is humbling of the ego. Bringing to the self centred, indulgent ego a spiritual awareness of its true place in the universe. ORIGINAL ARTIST PRINTS These prints are the artwork's original physical form, NOT reproductions. This is an original art work which was created digitally, directly onto a computer. The process of creating an art image digitally restricts the physical presentation of the artwork to printed form. ARTIST QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Di holds an Art Certificate (Tafe College 2 years full time) & a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts (University 3 years full time) and has been a practicing artist for 18 years. She has won numerous international art contests. Her former employment includes Artist-In-Residence and Private Art Tutor for a community center and an Art Teacher for a children's resource unit.
