EPRAD ALU-TOP DRIVE-IN SPEAKER JUNCTION BOX (SPEAKER HOLDER)

This is an Eprad Alu-top junction box. It attaches to a pole or post and holds two drive-in speakers of any brand by their hook. This is the way drive-in theatres have their speakers mounted. They are hard to find as they were very difficult to remove from the post tops. I recall a day in Summer and head-high grass where my brother and I almost collapsed from heat exhaustion trying to remove these things!

If you have a speaker or a pair these are the best way to display your speakers. The wiring inside connected the speaker wire that then ran down the pole into the ground. This junction box also has a small globe powered by low voltage power to light the speaker pole base. It was bought from the owner of the drive-in by me after it closed. This one is from the former Cobram Moonlight drive-in in Victoria.

You need a junction box to hang your speakers and wire them up just like drive-ins did.

This junction box does have some dirt build-up and needs a good clean. It has not been restored and is not new.
