ONGLAZE

TECHNIQUES

For China Painters and Potters

Book

By Heather Tailor

96 paged hardcover book in good condition. Has previous owner's name written on first page and has two items underlined in red ink on the back index page.

This book is a comprehensive exploration of the basic onglaze techniques and explains the types of surface that can be used for onglaze painting; how to select and prepare onglaze colour; and how to transfer a design to the surface and apply the paint easily.
Chapters give detailed information on stencilling techniques, recipes for mediums, pen work, sponge painting, grounding, brushwork, enamel, metallics, gold and platinum application and outlines several projects.
Later chapters give insight into kiln operation and design and the text offers technical refinements and new design directions for both beginners and experienced onglaze painters.
