 Switch on  -  plug in guitar  / or sit close to tuner in quiet location if acoustic.
 
 Strike each string :
 
 Bottom row of  led lights when lit will tell you which string has been struck.
                                               
 Top row of led lights indicate if string is :  flat - b  ( too low )  or  sharp #  ( too high )
 
 Tighten and loosen each string - When green led light is constantly on - string is in tune.
