An original porcelain enamel or cloisonne metal badge for the radiator of a veteran/vintage "ESSEX MOTORS" automobile. The face is very slightly domed and it measures about 1 3/4" or 45 mm across. The original dome fitting remains on the rear.

This badge is from a veteran or vintage car manufactured by Essex Motors which later officially became a product of Hudson.

This badge is used and the metal is in nice shape although there is evidence of a light damage to the porcelain at the second "E" with a spot of damage (but no loss) to the red porcelain and some loss of the white porcelain in the bottom of that second "E" (refer photos). The plating is not worn or damaged and has a nice patina (but is dull!). The original dome fitting on the rear is very rusty but still quite solid.
