Evening Primose is a large biennial flowering herb growing to 150cm in height.  The flowers are yellow, 2.5-5cm is diameter with four petals, they open only in the evening and close buy the following noon.  The entire plant is edible and is commonly used in salads. 

Evening primrose is used medicanaly to treat coughs, premenstual stress, gastro-intestinal disorders and to ease bruises and wounds.

FOR BEST RESULTS: Sow seeds in spring or summer into pots using a soil-less seed compost.  Do not cover. Germination should take 3-4 weeks.
