    This Rare, Superb, Genuine Very Finely Knotted Antique Bakhtiar Pile Rug Displays a Latticed Design of Angular Flower and Tree Motifs, Often Called the Garden Design by Dealers Surrounded by a Beautifully Drawn, White Ground Main Border of Stepped Lozenges Containing Geometric Bird Motifs. The Hand Spun, Lustrous, Very Hardy Tribal Grown, Wool Pile is Very Finely Symmetrically Hand Knotted to Cotton Warps and Wefts with Every Second Warp Thread Seen on the Back of the Rug and the Abrash in the Vegetable Dyed Colours Showing the Wool Used was Dyed over a Long Period of Time. These Beautiful Dyes, Materials Used, Knotting Style and Abrash are Proof of an Origin in a Village Environment among Bakhtiar Tribal People Living in Villages in the North of the Hamadan Region in West Iran over the Period 1900 to 1920.

  The Range of Extremely Well Entrenched, Vibrant, Jewel Like Vegetable Dyes including Indigo Blue and Green Blue Tones, Fabulous Range of Madder with Tones from Tan/Brown through Soft Red to Rich Crimson, Use of the Undyed Fine Ivory/White Wool in the Main Border, Layout of Design, Very Fine Knotting Style and Amazing, Tribal Grown Wool and Unusual Almost Squared Size Make this a Very Rare and Important Bakhtiar Rug which is Obviously at least 90 Years Old.

    This Heavy and Very Hard Wearing, Rare, Authentic, Antique Bakhtiar Hand Knotted Pile Rug is in Extremely Good, Original Condition for its Over 90 years of Age and is Ready for use on the Floor Anywhere in the Home Where it will Last for Many, Many Years. It Measures 1.97m x 1.6m (6ft 5.5 inches x 5ft 3 inch), Has Corrosion in the Black Areas of the Pile which is Proof of a Vegetable Dyed Black and some minor signs of the years including some wear at the selvedges and warp ends.
