    This Exceptional Authentic Antique Hamadan Village Knotted Pile Rug from West Iran has a Wonderfully Lustrous and Hard Wearing Hand Spun Wool Pile Very Finely Symmetrically Hand Knotted to Cotton Warps and Wefts with Every Second Warp Thread Seen on the Back of the Rug as Proof of an Origin in the Hamadan Region of West Iran. The Herati and Angular Flower Motifs are Arranged in a Superbly Balanced Form in the Main Field and Surrounded by Borders of Flower and Leaf Design and the Range of Superb Vegetable Dyes include Wonderful Indigo Blues and Blue Green Tones, a Number of Madder Red Tones including a Double Dipped Rose and Areas of Weld Yellow none of which show any fading with a Black/Grey Used in Thin Outlines of the Design which shows Corrosion as Proof of its Vegetable Origin.

   There is Good Abrash Throughout this Magnificent Antique Hamadan Village Knotted Rug which is Added Proof of Its Creation over a Long Period of Time in a Genuine Village Environment over the Period 1890 to 1910 and it is in Amazingly Good Condition for its 100 years of Age. It Measures 1.95m x 1.2m (6ft 4.7 inches x 3ft 11.2 inches), Has Been Hand Washed, is a Rare and Very Beautiful Example of Village Weaving from the Hamadan Area which is Ready for Use on the Floor in Any Household Situation where it will Last for Many, Many Years. It has Good Even Pile and only Minor signs of its Advanced Age including some minimal wear at the warp ends with Original Braiding at One End and minor wear at the selvedges. See Photos.
