An exceptional antique French chateau gilt bronze hook,  its quality confirmed by its weight being 364 grams.

Dating from circa 1880,  with deeply incised crisp details,  this superb tie back is in first class antique condition, with no damage or missing parts.

The gilding has mellowed and worn over time,  giving that stylish look of French faded grandeur that cannot be reproduced.

It is easily fixed with the bracket to the reverse of the beautiful back plate,  and its good size being simply perfect for ample billowing fabric.

Apart from its original purpose this can also be used to great effect as a decorative robe hook.

There is a makers mark on the reverse 333 EG.

  It measures a grand:-  14 cms out from the wall,  with a drop of 20.50 cms,

( approx. 5 1/2 ins by 8 ins  )

A stunning and exceptional quality antique fitting which would add French style and elegance to any interior.
