ANCIENT CAESAR PRESENTS

Roman military bronze knobbed pendant with winged phallic design. There are two symbols with the same design and small decoration bellow. The wings and the long "knob" are quite rare features for this type of pendants. The symbols have their importance and make it even more interesting. Intact with lovely green patina and wearable. The mail's genital was a respected symbol of plenty and prosperity. Fertility symbols were not viewed with shame in the antiquity. Phallic images were very popular in ancient times unlike today and we can see them on pottery, jewelry, paintings etc., in the great Greek and Roman cultures. Fertility pendants and amulets were worn for fertility, prosperity, plenty and good luck by men and women. Chariots, horse harness and armor were proudly decorated with fertility them.
