This is absolutely the BEST, most WONDERFUL accessory you
can get for your camera.
It's the
Eyepiece that I use on my own cameras.
I have
glasses, and I consider the Eyepiece to be essential. By
eliminating stray light coming in around the viewfinder, the viewfinder appears
more clear and bright, and focusing is much easier. It acts as a rear eye
hood to reduce the light entering from the back of the camera. The
design of the E-10 and E-20 is such that this light can get onto the CCD and can
reduce contrast -- That's the reason for the eyepiece shutter lever. (See page
113, 114 and 116 in the E-10 manual, about half-way down on each page.)
The digital cameras that I use are the Olympus C-2100 UZ and the Olympus E-10
(the E-10 is very similar to the layout of the E-1, with the through-the-lens
viewing). I use this Eyepiece because it is comfortable, and it
makes looking into the viewfinder sharper, brighter, and more
clear. An excellent product, whether or not you have
eyeglasses.
A brighter viewfinder means
that it's easier to take the picture !
When you receive your eyepiece,
it will come with two thin matte-black nylon locking ties -- one
to use, and one for a spare -- along with simple instructions. Without the
tie, the eyepiece may be seem to fit too loosely on the E-1, and it could slip
off. With the nylon tie, you can adjust how firmly you want the eyepiece
to fit on your camera.

To eliminate any possible
confusion: On the E-10, E-20, and E-1, this eyecup does help to
prevent "ghosting" or a reduction in contrast, as light can leak back through
the optical viewfinder. On the C-2100, with its Electronic View Finder, an
eyecup does not do this. On all cameras, this
Eyepiece helps YOU see the viewfinder more clearly, whether you're inside or
outside.
