EFI fuel pump manufactuered to Bosch VL turbo specs, replaces Bosch part # 0 580 464 070, commonly referred to as "070" pump. This pump is used on factory turbo and performance engines around the world.
Suitable for factory replacement for various BMW, Audi, Fiat, Volkswagen Jaguar and other Euorpean vehicles, as well as Australaian Pulsar, Camira, Astra and various Commodores and Falcons.
Used extensively in aftermarket industry as universal EFI pump for engine conversions and turbo installations.
Can comfortably support 350hp (260kW) in an EFI Turbo setup, or well over 400hp (over 300kW) in a naturally aspirated EFI or blow-through carby turbo setup.
Suitable for all high pressure fuel injection systems, such as Multi Point Fuel Injection MPFI, as fitted to all late model EFI engines, Tuned Port Injection TPI such as Chev 305 V8, and engines with Throttle Body Injection TBI, which are mostly late 80's and early 90's EFI setups.
Brand new sealed in box. Comes with electrical connectors, rubber boots, nuts and washers.
The Bosch 070 is a Bosch Motorsport component. It is an external pump that can provide enough fuel flow for around 350hp, and will pump 130Litres/hour at a pressure of 3bar (44psi). If you're running a system pressure lower than this, then fuel flow will be even higher.
The 070 has the following specs:
pressurised fuel flow rate = 130 litres/hour @ 3bar (34.4 gallons/hour @ 44psi)
fuel 'free-flow' rate = approx. 200 litres/hour (53 galons/hour)
max. fuel pressure = over 100 psi
12mm (1/2") barbed inlet fitting
8mm (5/16") barbed outlet fitting
max. power consumption = 6.5A
pump diameter = 52mm
These pumps are ideal for pump upgrades on existing EFI vehicles, whether the vehicle is outputting 350hp or not, it doesn't matter, the vehicle fuel system will only use the fuel it requires. These pumps are also marketed as replacement pumps for many other Bosch external pumps such as the 0580464008, as found in non turbo VL Commodores, R31 Nissan Skylines with RB30 engine, etc.
This pump is also a fantastic option for EFI conversions, particularly turbo EFI and carby turbo conversions, not only because of its high flow, but because it's one of the easiest pumps to hook up. I use these pumps on my own vehicles and customers cars with great success for these very reasons.
For a fuel pressure regulator for use with this EFI pump and a blow-through carby setup, check out my other auctions. You don't need a bigger pump even for a monster carby turbo setup because the fuel system pressure is lower, and most pumps will flow more fuel at lower pressure outputs. Therefore a bigger pump like an 044 will just be returning fuel to the tank all the time, heating it up, and costing power.
TWIN PUMP SETUPS -
Some people like to use these pumps in a twin pump arrangement, either in parallel (to double fuel flow at same pressure) or in series (to run super high pressures whilst still getting plenty of fuel flow, such as with rising rate fuel pressure regs). Either way, you can get a fuel system with twin pumps to deliver enough fuel for huge power levels, at less than the cost of a single genuine bosch pump.
UNIVERSAL FITMENT -
The great thing about the 070 is that you don't need special fittings or metric adaptors to connect the fuel lines, as the body of the pump has inbuilt barbed fittings for both inlet and outlet, so the fuel hose pushes straight on. Other pumps like the 910 and 044 all require metric fittings anda adaptors to connect to a hose. These fittings are worth nearly half the price of the pump itself.
This makes the 070 pump one of the easiest options for EFI conversions and all sorts or turbo installations, not only because of its high flow, but because it's one of the easiest pumps to hook up
Genuine Bosch brand 070 pumps retail for $150-$200, so grab a bargain at less than half the cost of a Bosch unit. And these pumps work great and are very reliable, we have fitted them to many vehicles and sold them to many customers without any problems or complaints whatsoever. For this sort of pump performance at this cost, there's not much that you'd want to complain about anyway.
The 070 pump is not to be confused with other lower spec Bosch external fuel pumps such as those found on naturally aspirated VL Commodores and other vehicles such as Holden Camira, Astra, Nissan Pulsar, etc, as those pumps are a lower spec unit and don't flow as much fuel. They look very similar externally, but the VL turbo 070 pump can be identified by the part number and by the electrical terminals, which use metric threaded posts. The lower spec units use push on spade terminals for the electrical connections. However, keep in mind the 070 pump is an ideal replacement for these lower spec Bosch pumps and in most cases is a direct swap/change over.
PAYMENT & SHIPPING -
If possible, I would prefer direct bank deposit over paypal to avoid paypal fees. If you use internet banking, please leave your ebay username as a reference. Shipping is $15 to anywhere in Australia. Its a couple of $$ more than typical Aust Post price, but I use a courier service that provides full insurance and tracking for peace of mind. Aust Post are good, but they're not great. My courier is!
If you buy two pumps, postage on second item is free.
If you're interested in multiple pumps (3 or more), message me to sort out costs as a discount will apply. If you have any questions, just send me a message and I will try and reply ASAP.
