The name of this Enlarger is NEVA 2 m - after the river Neva in St Petersburg. My family bought it in 1958, when I was a child. At the time it was one of the better brands, and it worked well for many years as my family travelled across Europe, and even in Australia I've produced some nice photos. However with the years this Enlarger has 'matured', that is - some parts have gone rusty, scratched, and/or missing. The LENS needs proper cleaning. The main cord is still attached to the Enlarger, but for safety reasons must be replaced. Another cord - from a Red lantern - simply indicates that a new cord can be inserted..
The Enlarger stands on a solid wooden base, which needs polishing. It has a main metal removable frame with 'wings' for the negatives, with a glass insert. Also there are 5 smaller frames for the negatives - 3 of which have removable glass inserts. With the Enlarger I also include a special white frame with markings on 2 sides, which was used to hold down photographic paper. As a special bonus - this Enlarger comes with a Yellow Filter, still in its plastic container (I believe it was never used), and a small round holder for other filters (the cracked round matt glass inside is only for guidance so a new one can be cut).
Considering that Enlarger can be easily brought to proper working condition,
$ 20 for the lot is a small price to pay. And with Christmas coming - it might be just the perfect gift for a teenager going through a difficult phase, or a budding inventor, or someone who likes to restore old relics.. Pick up only.
