Hello! For auction today is a beautiful, sculptural compote in silver plate from renowed Danish silversmith Ernst Dragsted.
The bowl sits on three, arching, beaded "stems" inside which sits a round bud surrounded by 5 ribbed petals. It gives the impression of a vital flower about to burst into bloom.
It is approximately 5 1/8" high and almost 7" across. It is stamped on the bottom: E. Dragsted; silverplate; Denmark. There is minor tarnishing on the stems, a few scratches inside and two very small dings (pinhead size) in the bottom.
A striking example - elegant with great detail. Great holiday gift for the collector in your life.
