Basil
Revered in India for its spiritual qualities, and in Italy for its romantic ones, Basil is an uplifting oil which helps bring deep focus and clarity.  Steam inhalation may be used for headaches, migraines and head colds.  It is used for treating all kinds of respiratory infections, such as bronchitis, whooping cough and many feverish conditions.  It is gentle and antispasmodic, and massage over the stomach can ease chest infections, digestive problems, scanty and period pain.  It may also be used as a mouthwash for ulcers and gum infections.

Bergamot Finest
Bergamot soothes the nervous system while invigorating the mind, and is an excellent oil for motivation, confidence and easing anxiety.  Used in bath or burner, it can help to regulate the appetite and is therefore good for obesity or anorexia.  It is useful in treating urinary tract infections when added to the bath or used as a 1% local wash.  Its antiseptic properties make it excellent for treating acne, oily skin and skin infections.  It can also be used as a deodorant and insect repellent.

Cedarwood
Cedarwood has a stimulating, elevating and opening effect on the mind.  It has a strong, life-giving quality, which helps relieve anxiety and quell anger, irritation or fear.  Use as a warm and refreshing room fragrance, to create a sensual mood or as an insect repellent.  Excellent during meditation and prayer.  It is a powerful antiseptic, used especially for bronchial and urinary tract infections.  It is also helpful in skin care and treatment of acne.

Chamomille Roman
Like its German counterpart, Chamomille Roman is also soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory.  Both are also useful in assisting premenstrual tension, menstrual pain and menopausal problems.  They may also be used in massage for muscular pain and inflamed joints in conditions such as arthritis.  Cold compress can help treat sprains, inflamed tendons, and swollen painful joints. Excellent for insomnia.

Clary Sage
Clary Sage has an ancient reputation as a “cure-all”, having been used in the treatment of a great variety of ailments.  It helps to restore emotional or hormonal imbalances caused by premenstrual tension, menopause and mid-life crisis.  It is also a powerful nerve tonic, valuable for all types of nervous debility and states of exhaustion.  Its narcotic effect helps to encourage vivid dreams and enhance creativity.  It is a rejuvenating oil which can lead to feelings of elation and euphoria.  Its scent can also lead to a sense of calmness and confidence valuable in exams and interviews, and for reducing stress.

Geranium Bourbon
Geranium reduces mild anxiety and relieves premenstrual symptoms such as fluid retention.  Helps control minor bleeding from cuts.  Relieves the symptoms of eczema.  It has a mild, regulating effect on the nervous system.  It makes an excellent tonic and pick-me-up, either as a room fragrance, bath or massage rub.

Grapefruit Finest
A happy, lively citrus oil which helps alleviate staleness and boredom. It is clarifying for the self and environment and neutralises unpleasant odours. Grapefruit is a tonic oil. It acts on migraines and depression and aids drug withdrawal. Useful for the treatment of obesity. A liquid face lift for day and night. A positivity and confidence booster.

Lavender Tas
A very versatile oil good for burns, inflammations, cuts, wounds, eczema, dermatitis, fainting, headaches, flu, insomnia, hysteria, migraine, nausea, nervous tension and infection. An anti-bacterial oil. Good for asthma, acne, rheumatism, muscular pains, high blood pressure. Useful in skin care, Lavender is a balancing and normalising oil. Cools sunburn. Lemongrass
Good for infections. Is tonic and antiseptic. Good for fever and has a soothing effect on headaches. Can be used to enhance psychic awareness. Useful as an insect repellent. A refreshing oil for tired feet.

Lemon Finest
A refreshing, tangy and sprightly oil used for brightening pale complexions. Used to freshen the atmosphere in sick areas. Good for external wounds and infectious illnesses. Reduces the temperature and stimulates the body's own defences. An haemostatic oil (particularly good for nose bleeds and tooth extractions). A bactericide oil (cuts). It counteracts the acidity in the body and is good for digestive problems. It has a tonic effect on the circulation and is good for high blood pressure. Useful in skin care as a bleach (neck and hands). Also good to remove corns, warts and verucas. Relaxes and stimulates - a lively but still sedating oil.

Mandarin Finest
A light-hearted sweet smelling oil popular among children and good for pregnant women. Mandarin has excellent emollient properties and is mildly sedative. Good for insomnia, nervousness, anxiety. A tonic and tranquillising oil. Good for digestive and liver problems. Has a very gentle action so is useful for both children and elderly or fragile people. A young, fresh, inspiring and strengthening oil.

Marjoram French
A profoundly calming oil, excellent in times of grief or loneliness. Helps one face difficult issues. Good for sprains, bruises, intestinal cramps, menstrual problems, anxiety, asthma, insomnia, muscular problems, bronchitis. An analgesic and sedative oil. It dilates the arteries and increases circulation, taking toxins away. Good for high blood pressure and heart conditions. An aphrodisiac, but soothes the brokenhearted and warms the emotionally cold.

Orange Finest
Perhaps the mildest of the citrus oils, Orange radiates warmth. A very calming oil that makes a wonderfully soothing bath. High in Vitamin C and good for children. Good for depression, anxiety, constipation and nervous conditions, muscular spasms, tonic and sedative antiseptic oil, useful for insomnia. A bright and lively oil. Disperses the fears of the unknown and relaxes obsessions.

Patchouli
A highly sensual, Oriental aroma which is used in many perfumes. Also used in shampoo to combat dandruff or oiliness. Traditionally thought to ward off evil spirits. Good for skin inflammation, an anti-fungal oil, good for acne and eczema. Antiseptic, diuretic, a cell regenerator. Also useful as an insecticide. Patchouli has a masculine character - is earthy and profound. Stimulates the nervous system. A strident and forceful oil

Peppermint
Good for colds, flu and fever and used to treat flatulence. Provides temporary relief from headaches, nausea and muscular pain. Helps give stamina and endurance. An oil good for inflammation, nausea, indigestion, fevers, flatulence, liver problems, arthritis, stimulant in conjunction with Lavender and Marjoram. Useful for headaches, migraines. A decongestant for acne (in compress or in steaming . Mildly antiseptic. Both a stimulating and sedative oil - also cephalic to aid clear thinking. Good for shock but not use with homeopathic remedies or over long periods of times as it could affect normal sleeping pattern.

Rose Maroc
Romantic and sensual, this Moroccan Rose is the strongest aphrodisiac of all roses. A strengthening oil which balances emotions and promotes a sense of well-being. Rose is a very versatile oil. Good for anxiety, depression, menopausal problems. Is an antiseptic and tonic oil. Useful for menstrual disorders, stress and tension. Useful in skin care for dry, sensitive and mature skins. It diminishes redness caused by enlarged capillaries. It also gives emotional comfort and enlivens the heart.

Rosemary
A strengthening, stimulating oil, Rosemary removes rheumatic pain and muscular cramps and spasms. Also aids stamina and endurance and helps improve scalp condition. Good for headache, gout, fatigue, sprains, dandruff, obesity and spinal injuries. A nerve stimulant, heart tonic and liver decongestant. Also analgesic, it lowers the cholesterol level in the blood. Good for respiratory problems, clears the head. Useful for athletes, esp. long distance runners both before and after competition and training (in combination with Lavender & Marjoram). Good for skin and hair care. Rosemary stimulates sensitivity. It increases creativity and lifts exhaustion.

Rosewood
This oil has a warm and invigorating scent and is used widely in perfumery. Rosewood is also excellent in times of confusion and strain as it tends to have a stabilising effect. Deodorising.

Tangerine Finest
An exquisitely sweet citrus, Tangerine will brighten any room in which it is burned. Also soothing and relaxing in bath and massage. High in Vitamin C. Suitable for massage in pregnancy or for children. Combined with Neroli and Sandalwood, it helps prevent stretch marks. Similar to Orange in therapeutic properties. A very comforting and warm oil.

Ylang Ylang Extra
An exotic and sensual oil, Ylang Ylang's euphoric qualities help to relieve nervous tension, stress, mild anxiety and insomnia. Also good for palpitations, depression, high blood pressure. Both sedative and aphrodisiac. Stimulates the sense and dispels jealousy.
