EURASIAN SMOKEBUSH

Cotinus coggygria

(This plant is not on the Australian Noxious Weed List.)

A native of a large area covering southern Europe, central Asia, the Himalayas and northern China, it is a member of the Rhus family.

A deciduous shrub to 5 metres with a spread of 2 metres, it prefers light to medium well drained soils in a sunny position. It is frost hardy but drought tender.

The leaves are light green turning peach to yellow and scarlet to deep violet in autumn. The flowers are abundant, reddish (though most abort) and subsequently elongate into yellowish-pink and later pinkish-purple feathery plumes becoming smoke-like in late summer.

Offered is a packet of 25 fresh seeds and Grownotes to assist you with there propagation.

All my seed is posted in bubble wrap protection.
