925 Sterling silver is the highest quality silver which is 925 parts out of 1000 parts pure silver.
Silver in its pure form will not tarnish,but is too soft for use in jewelry & or giftware.
Copper, a stronger metal,is added to strengthen
the silver.
Over time oxidation reactions will occur, especially with sulfur & oxygen,causing silver to become tarnished.
It’s recommend that you clean the piece with a polishing cloth or with fine jewelry cleaner.
To minimize scratches,silver jewelry should be stored in cloth pouches,small zip lock bags,or in a jewelry box.

Some commercial cleaners can also damage certain gemstones such as turquoise, malachite,& pearls.
So you can also clean silver with a paste made of baking soda & a little warm water,using a soft toothbrush to clean the stones.
