 This is a fine 19thc Victorian jewellery box dating circa 1880.  The box has a dark green fabric covering.  To centre of box, raised, is a very beautiful oval oil painting portrait of a woman who is very Pre-Raphaelite in style with long, abundant hair.  She is depicted in profile.  Very well exevcuted oil with fine attention to detail and having lovely colours.    The box is in very good and age commensurate condition.  There is a blemish to top as image shows and the usual signs of wear to edges/corners of box as to be expected.  Nothing significant though.  The portrait is in very good condition. 

Box measures some  6".25  by some 6".5.  Height of some 2".25.
