This is an Interesting Unframed Original Large Gouache Painting on arches paper, by well known Listed Australian Artist, FRANK WERTHER. It  is signed lower right, and dated 1975. It is titled "POINCIANA PODS", and shows the Artist's skill in this Abstract work. It is in Good Condition, and measures 26 1/2 inch by 19 1/2 inch, (67.3cm x 49.5cm). (Image).  It is far better than the photo shows.

WERTHER, Frank; (born Berlin, Germany 1922), and arrived in Australia in 1939. He studied at the National Gallery School, and at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He did Printmaking under Udo Sellbach. He has Exhibited widely in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra, and Townsville from 1960 – 1970. He has taught at Victorian TAFE Colleges for over 30 years. He won the CATO Prize in 1959, and Portland Prize in 1962. His work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, and many Australian Regional and Corporate Collections.
