Fabulously Soft Alpaca Fleece for Felting - WHITE

You are bidding on 500gm of WHITE alpaca fleece.

This fleece is taken from the upper neck area and so is more variable in length than that taken from the alpaca's back. By limiting to the upper neck, we avoid much of the "guard hair" which is sometimes present on the lower neck towards the belly.

Note that spinners may be able to use this fleece, but generally it is easier to spin with fleece from the alpaca's blanket area, as that is generally longer and more consistent in length.

The fleece is unprocessed and may contain dust and some vegetable matter.

We use an experienced shearer - so minimal second cuts.

Alpaca fleece is unsurpassed for its softness, lightness and warmth - it was known to the Incas as 'Fibre of the Gods'.
