FAEMA E61 1 GROUP ESPRESSO CAPPUCCINO MACHINE, 1966 MODEL
Hello and welcome to my auction. I am clearing out my collection of 60's coffee machines. This one is a fully restored 1966 model E61. This machine has been fully stripped, cleaned, rechromed and polished, and rebuilt using new seals. It has been tested and creates perfect espresso. Not only does it make great coffee, quite frankly it is a spectacle! It will truly be the centrepeice of where ever it is placed. It is one of the rarer non-stainless steel boiler models (copper boiler).
I have had the machine stripped down and cleaned, new seals put in, and added a flourescent tube to the front under the glass. I have had the electrics tested and the wires renewed. This machine will plug into a standard household socket, and hence would make a perfect addition to your kitchen, bar or dining area. Parts are readily available to service your machine here in Australia, so rest assured it will have many happy years of use in your home. Ideally the machine would be plumbed to a water supply to fill the boiler, and consideration will also be needed as to where the external pump is to be placed. It is not a lever machine, and requires an external pump to be attached. I can provide a good used one at extra cost if required, however it is not included in the auction.
The chromework is beautifully deep and spectacular. It was not a budget job to get the machine ready. This is the same company I use on my motorcycle restorations. The chromework is of a better quality than original, and will last and remain as beautiful as it is today for many years to come. The stainless steel has also been polished to a mirror finish. The windshield has been replaced with a brand new aftermarket one. It is perfect. The front light is a flourescent tube which is a sealed unit unlike the original ones. Please see a pic of my Lever machine on auction to see what the front looks like lit up.
Internally I have retained the mercury pressurestat for originality. I would only do this if it were safe. The mercury is in no way connected to the water supply hence it is safe provided you do not break it and handle the contents. A rarity for these machines is that the cup warmer is still in place too. It shoots jets of steam up through the cup tray, heating the cups before use. Also a rarity is the small drain tube in place to catch any water from the steam tray and drain it. I also keep the gas burner and tap in place, however do not guarantee that it is working. This makes this machine more collectable in that it is complete. The front glass is very nice, and I have replaced it with a reproduction decal to make it look new again.
Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I try to be as accurate as possible with my descriptions (hence my 100% feedback rating) and am always happy to answer questions. I can deliver the machine locally to you or a courier/transporter for a fee. Alternatively I can request a removalist quote for you. I am ok with you organising pickup of the machine, and will work within reason to be here if the machine is to be picked up. The machine has a sealed plywood crate which will protect it during shipping. International Bidders - I am happy for you to organise a shipping agency and to deliver it for them locally for a fee. I will post the dimensions of the crate, and an estimated weight shortly. Please advise if you would like insurance quoted for the machine also.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding! I have two more restored machines which I will list shortly - a 1 group Lever E61 and a 2 group E61 also so please keep your eyes open for one of these if you would prefer something different.
