First up, this is NOT the Limited Release Fender Custom Shop
all-rosewood Telecaster replica from 2007 - one of those will set you
back between $4000 and $5000 USD *if* you can find one.
It IS, however, the limited release Made-in-Mexico Rosewood Telecaster
from around 2001-02, that was quietly produced to coincide with the
release of the book "Beatles gear" by Andy Babiuk (there was also a
sonic blue strat released in conjunction with this one). It is
essentially the same specs as the Mexican Fender "Classic 60s" Tele,
but with a body consisting of Alder sandwiched between two pieces of
rosewood veneer. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard.
I purchased this from Music123 back in 2002, so it effectively came
straight to me from Fender, and I have played it for less than 10
minutes in total from when I purchased it (again, I know). It has no discernible blemishes or issues - it hasn't had a chance to acquire any. It comes with a gig bag only - no case candy (I don't recall there being any).
I'm sure everyone knows the story, but for those that don't: in 1968,
Fender produced a one-off all-rosewood Telecaster and Stratocaster,
intended for George Harrison and Jimi Hendrix respectively. George
received his and proceeded to use it during 1969 and beyond, most
notably in the Beatles' last public performance on the rooftop of their
Apple building in London. The whereabouts and fate of Jimi's rosewood Strat
remain a mystery.
Starting price is indicative of my need to sell - not the quality of the guitar!
NOTE: check back regularly, as I will be selling a guitar every week for the next couple of months, including some hard-to-find Fenders, Gibsons and and an old Ibanez favourite from the early 80s - plus a bunch of other musical paraphernalia!
EVERYONE: Paypal only.
SHIPPING WILL BE AT COST - I've shown nominal upper amounts below, but will discount the final price based on actual cost. I have my own packaging materials which you won't
pay for. There needs to be someone at the shipping address to take
delivery of the package. And as always, you bid - you buy.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Customs duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. Final price is the declared price. Shipping is likely to be $150-200 depending on location, carrier and service.
AUSTRALIAN BUYERS: No pickup - sorry. Shipping likely to be $50-100, depending on location, carrier and service.
