Ferrari 750 Monza 0498 Phil Hill 55 Art Model 1:43 #192

This is a rare new release collectors model in 1:43 scale by Art Model of Italy, brand new in original packaging, Art Model item number 192.

This is a finely detailed model of the Scaglietti bodied Ferrari 750 Monza. Ferrari only produced 31 of these pretty little spyders in 1954 and 1955. They were bodied by Scaglietti and powered by a twin cam 3.0 litre engine giving 250 bhp at 6000 rpm.  They featured a five speed gearbox, ZF limited slip differential and a tubular chassis of only 2.25 metre wheelbase with double wishbone front suspension and De Dion rear, and performance was spectacular for their time with a kerb weight of only 760 kg.

This model represents chassis number 0498M which was first sold to George Tilp.  The prelim and 40 lap feature race at Beverly Aiport in April 1955 was the cars first outing and it won both events, the driver was Phil Hill.

Art Models are collectors items, made in diecast metal and using many other materials for detailing. This model features fine photo etched wire wheels with spun aluminium rims, knock off hubs and race tyres, a fully detailed interior with bucket seats, door trims, rear view mirror, gearshift, fully detailed dashboard and instrument panel, woodrim steering wheel with photo etched metal spokes and Ferrari horn button, aero screen, clutch, brake and accelerator pedals plus lots of fine photo etchings for the panel catches and grilles.

Other external details include all correct badges and filler caps. The underside of the model is also detailed with some chassis detail, engine sump, transmission and exhaust system. This is a truly magnificent model of one of the all time classic racing Ferrari spyders.

Art Model items come mounted on a black plastic plinth in a clear plastic display box with outer cardboard window box. This item is brand new in original unmarked packaging.
